Message No. 1102-1113 is typewriter-produced pictures that amaze with their spatial qualities even though they have been created by limited means of expression: space, repeat, enter, diacritics and punctuation. Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt began to use the typewriter as a medium for art in 1972, wanting to participate in the mail-art movement. Ruth would rarely disseminate her originals – carbon copies traveled instead.
